GrassMasters Sod Farm in Patoka, Indiana, recently supplied Tahoma 31 sod to the Tennessee Titans professional football team for their practice fields. Grassmasters, a licensed producer of Tahoma 31, which was developed by Oklahoma State University, harvested 105,000 square feet of Tahoma 31 Bermudagrass sod, (2.4 acres) for the NFL team’s practice facility in Nashville. The grass was delivered as Big Roll sod and installed in mid-June, 2019.
Pam Bammer of Grassmasters said the team’s sports turf manager had read the research on Tahoma 31 and was excited to plant the grass on the practice fields this summer.
Bammer said the Titans chose Tahoma 31, in part because it has been rated No. 1 in quality and cold tolerance.
GrassMasters has been operating on a family farm with about 350 acres in Patoka, Indiana, since 1997. In total, there are 25 workers during the busy summer months. The Bammers also are seeding a new farm in Colorado and have partnership farms in Lexington, Kentucky, as well as Panama.
