The Naval Academy Golf Course, recently renovated with Tahoma 31 fairways, is “Now Elite in the Region” , according to an article in the Capital Gazette newspaper that serves the Washington D.C. area.
In the article, Head Golf Professional Pat Owen was quoted as saying“It’s difficult to draw a bad lie with the new (Tahoma 31) grass fairways.”
Additionally, the article summarized comments from Golf Course Superintendent Eric David, in this way:
“A Bermuda grass known as Tahoma 31 was planted in the fairways and the difference was immediately noticeable to members. David said Tahoma 31 has a high tolerance to cold and drought along with a high density that holds up to high traffic.”
