In the January 2020 issue of Sports Turf, Dr. Grady Miller of NC State says of Tahoma 31:
“Research data suggests that Tahoma 31 has the cold tolerance of its predecessors with a cold tolerance and spring green-up profile more similar to TifTuf.”
Tahoma 31 is “in the top-performing group at most locations for most of the traits evaluated. In many cases, standards such as Tifway are in the second or third group with significantly lower performance.
“I think it is a great time to be looking at new grasses.”
